The Emotional side of weight-loss. It’s common to think that losing weight is only being aware of what you eat + exercise + plus maybe, a better attitude. My story started out in a similar way, but my body change has taken much time, it’s been a slow and sometimes seemingly stagnant release. This is because I’ve been releasing much more than fat. Fat is not JUST a result of eating badly + being lazy AT ALL, it is a symptom of unresolved emotions\trauma— some variable of guilt, shame, protection, feelings of being unlovable unique to the individual. Guilt has been a major theme in my life, as with many Empaths. Feeling guilty/ feeling responsible for others reactions and then that translating into cycles of binging with food and alcohol and then feeling more guilt/shame. I also unconsciously used my weight as a form of protection from anyone really truly hurting me. Burying my emotions and my true self so deeply that I had already abandoned myself first— I would think —it’s not like anyone could truly love me like this anyways. Of course I began to change my life style, but the weight didn’t fall off over night— my body seemed to release it when I make emotional breakthroughs.. when I establish boundaries without guilt(which can be so hard) when I put myself first, when I allow myself to be HUMAN, to make mistakes, to not be perfect and love myself anyways. My body continues to shift as my self love expands and I allow myself to be open, to feel, and to rise in the face of fear. Your Internal truly shifts your external.

Whenever I have some free time, lately, I’ve been trying to plan out our honeymoon because I know the wedding will be here before I even know it🙈 (only 6 months away now...LIKE WHAT!!?). Crazyyyy how time flies!😱
Anywaysss, I’m definitely looking forward to working with a professional to help plan my honeymoon because there’s so many different options and I get overwhelmed every time and just end up quitting😂 so, definitely looking forward to having help with that.🙌🏻 .

One of the most important lessons yoga has taught me is that I don't have to carry around other people's pasts, energies, opinions, moods, or experiences around as my own. That's my default & it wears me down leaving me feeling tired, worthless, and sad.
AND it doesn't have to be that way.
That's all for them to deal with on their own time/space & my shit is for me to deal with on my own time/space.
Reminding myself (and you if you need it 😉👊🏽) of this today as I live my day for myself & not for others.
Bonus -- by living for myself & not for others, I get to show up for others in the way that I want to and best serves my relationships & connections.

Making a list of my yoga goals to keep myself motivated! It’s easy to get stagnant in my practice especially when my focus is usually teaching others. 🌸
So here is a list of my goals in order of when I want to get them. 🙌🏼 Now it’s out there let’s see if I can actually do it 🙈⠀
💙 Get my right splits as deep as my left ⠀
🧡 Work on touching my feet to my head in harder poses without using my hands ⠀
❤️ Get my straddle handstand and forearm press more consistently ⠀
💚 Get both over-splits comfortably on 5 blocks (middle 3 each side) ⠀
💕Get more comfortable in my standing dancer with my leg straight⠀
💛 Touch my knees in Kapotasana ⠀
💜 Work on moving through tolasana to chataranga jump backs from seated ⠀
🖤 Get forearm pike presses more consistent⠀
💚 Get better at lowering to crow from handstand⠀
❣️Get my back flat with both feet behind my head ⠀
🧡 Touch my bun to my butt in a backbend ⠀
💖 Hold a straight line handstand for 60 seconds (consistently) ⠀
💙 Start working towards handstand pike press ⠀
💜 Start working on lifting to handstand from crow 🙌🏼⠀
