A quick clip they shot of me trying to free a sea lion trapped in a net with my bro @dohertyphotography during our marlin baitball expedition. this sealion was exhausted, scared and drowning. I tried to cut her free but I ended up putting myself, my bro and this poor sealion in more danger due to my efforts. I did learn from this encounter, and the sealion was cut free from the nets, by the fishermen which made me happy. But I felt horrible that I needed to be in there at all. Nets are devastating to wildlife, especially gill nets. I learned and Next time I will stay on the boat and cut the animals free by pulling them up on the boat. Much safer to do it there. #bangillnets#wildlife_shots#wildlifevideo#oceanrescue#red#redcamera#wildlifefirst

Road Trip Fall ‘18: Woke up to a fresh blanket of snow covering everything, changing the landscape, making all surroundings completely quiet with the exception of a large flock of Bohemian Waxwings. It was fun watching them play hide and seek with me, conversing with each other whilst eating Mountain Ash berries, singing what sounded like praises for the new snow that had just arrived.
THE PERFECT MOMENT
White tailed deer
This was the perfect moment. Was able to sneak up slow enough that these deer remained lying down and eating the grass, however! Lying down doesn’t make for a good shot. As there is tail grass and shrubs. Always trying not disturb the animals I just waited in hopes for a good opportunity, waiting and enjoying this snowy nature moment. All of a sudden the deer rise there heads and looked spooked! I thought someone must be coming behind me.., I looked and there was the cutest Red Fox coming right up beside me. Quickly grabbed the quickest photo and returned focus to the deer, during this time the deer jumped up and stood tall in the perfect stance & spot. Beautiful snow failing, captured the moment as they watched the fox pranced away.. after I was able to witness this perfect moment the deer settled down lying right back down. Happy with all this, I sneaked away.. See ya next time big guy🦌..
Oh, and thanks FOX 🙏
ENJOY THE MULTI PICS
The northern regions of the whitetails range experience shedding earlier than the Midwest, so around January. The Midwest bucks tend to keep their antlers on until February, while the southern deer might still be rutting depending on the region, dropping their antlers anywhere from February to late march. #deer#deers#buck#naturephotography
Have you ever been this close to an American Coot's feet?!⠀
Kevin Malo captured this superb close-up shot at one of his favorite birding hotspots in Texas, the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center. ⠀
