DO YOU RELY ON SUGAR + CAFFEINE TO GET YOU THROUGH THE DAY? 🍭🍫🍬 Are your energy levels a little like a rollercoaster ride? Up, down and all over the place?
Is sugar your best friend when you’re dealing with emotions?
Do you struggle to say no whenever sugar is in front of you?
As soon as you feel tired is sugar the first thing you get your teeth into to give you that instant gratification?
THIS WAS DEFINITELY ME.
I can without a doubt say that in my teens + 20’s I was addicted to sugar.
Now I’m a self-confessed recovered sugar addict 😉
I would eat almost anything and everything that was sweet. I loved it and because I was always thin and active I didn’t think it was a problem for me. I never thought twice about what it could be doing to my body on the inside.
Little did I know my over consumption was leading to massive imbalances in my body. * Hormonal Imbalances
* Digestive Issues
* Blood Sugar fluctuations
* Fluctuating energy levels
* Bad skin
* Less than optimal functioning liver
Changing my diet + lifestyle in a massive way, bringing my body back to balance, and working on my emotional attachment to sugar, I was able to change my relationship with that addictive little substance once and for all.
I’m not saying I never eat it. It’s just more of a once-in-a-while thing and I choose healthier options without feelings of guilt. Life’s too short to completely deny yourself some sweetness in life, but a massive switch has to happen to actually make a long lasting change and improve your relationship with sugar once and for all.
Resonate with any of this?

Moon in Virgo vibes 🌓
To me, there isn’t much that’s more challenging to my growth than surrounding myself with family. The holidays are the perfect opportunity to watch each member revert to their own designated roles, as we all struggle to advance past our fourteen-year-old selves.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not discounting the good stuff. The love, traditions, laughs, and revelations in full abundance as we gather. •
Yet, ever notice how the core of most celebration revolves around food? For many, it’s the heart of a culture. Tastes and smells have the incredible time-travelling ability to bring us to a past that we all seem to long for. To home and childhood. To a place that feeds and nurtures our very most needs. •
Familiarity and safety may not be synonymous, yet they tend to walk hand in hand. •
And as we roam in the overwhelming world, often far beyond the nest, food can connect us back. Sometimes beautifully, and enjoyably so. And sometimes, it’s effects are numbing. When the void is unfillable, no matter how much is consumed. Perhaps the home was really not so safe, the sustenance wasn’t so nurturing, or the sense of security was never secure. •
Personally, it’s been a long journey of disordered eating. I wasn’t the only one. I grew up in an environment where it was even encouraged and it took extreme circumstances to wake me up. One came in the form of a friend – how can the signs of anorexia pass unnoticeable until she was lying in a hospital bed with a feeding tube down her throat?
Another was my own illness. And it hits close to home this Christmas, as my sister sips her liquid diet in preparation for her gastric bypass surgery. •
The New Year is upon us, a time where we bombard ourselves with resolutions. But how about instead of restrictions, diets, and weight goals, we pay attention? Listen to our hunger and cravings. Consciously prepare our meals. And slowly, presently savour each bite. •

Don't you think it's time you broke the habit of saying "I don't have enough time to workout"? We all need to stop making excuses and find opportunities throughout our day to get a quick session in.
Today, one of my new patients canceled, so instead of letting that 30 min go to waste, I got changed and knocked out a 4,000 meter row, 100 deadlifts and 3 minutes of high level elliptical sprints. Cleaned up real fast and got back to treating patients.
Its all about time management. Think about how many missed opportunities you have during the day to get a workout in. It could be a mile run during lunch break, air squats and pushups when a meeting ends early or taking the time to stretch out when an appointment doesn't show up.
The point is, there's more than enough time in a 24 hour day. It's just how bad do you want it? Look yourself in the mirror every morning and decide you're going to stop making excuses and begin taking action. #noexcuses#coastalintegrativehealth
We Are In Charge Of Our lives
If you are not willing to love yourself today, then you are not going to love yourself tomorrow, because whatever excuse you have today, you’ll still have tomorrow. Maybe you’ll have the same excuse 20 years from now, and even leave this lifetime holding on to the same excuse.

Here’s a really quick and simple Strawberry 🍓 & Banana 🍌 protein smoothie: ⠀
•Start with water (to help blend with frozen ingredients and protect your blades). ⠀
•1 Cup Frozen Strawberries ⠀
•2 Bananas ⠀
•2 Tablespoons of Protein Powder (I’m using Nutty Vegan Protein. I prefer Vegan/plant based protein) ⠀
•1-2 teaspoons of MCT oil (MCT oil is a purified form of saturated fatty acids. The benefits of MCT oil are: rapid weight loss, suppresses hunger; digests easily; more brain power; strengthens the gut; and boosts your workouts.) ⠀
Blend for about 2 minutes. ⠀
Serve & Enjoy !!

when someone finds out what I do for a living often the first thing they ask is "how do you make money doing that?"🤔💵
today on the blog I'm answering that question in FULL detail. I'm a big believer in honest convos about money because it doesn't have to be so damn taboo🙈🙉🙊
💰Money is v important. It's also not the only thing. The more we normalize these convos the less weird we'll be about money. And hopefully, that will translate to more trust and transparency in this (new) "influencer" industry🙌🏽
💵 I'm sharing the breakdown of where my money comes from, what each revenue stream looks like and some lessons learned from working for myself for the last ✌🏼 two years⠀

I’ve been wanting to throw my #tenyearchallenge into the mix, but have been struggling to find the words to put with it. Ten years ago I was 17 and thought I knew everything and thought my life was going to look a certain way. Ten years ago I had already done two rounds of inpatient treatment and was in the process of going through a day program treatment. I thought I had everything under control. I had no idea how anorexia would go on to affect the transformative “young adult” years of my life. The past ten years have been rough but, despite it all, I can’t deny that I’ve done my fair share of living. I got a bachelors degree and a law clerk diploma in that time. I went to Disney world (multiple times) and Thailand. I got and lost my first apartment and I made and lost friends. I didn’t fall in love but I learned what I want in another human. And I hopefully sowed the seeds to make the next 10 years a much happier, more fulfilling 10 years than the past 10 have been. 10 years ago I didn’t expect or want my life to have gone this way, but I have to believe that everything happens for a reason and my journey, meandering and painful though it may be at times, is no exception. #eatingdisorderrecover#anorexiarecovery#recovery#mentalhealth#edrecovery#health#wellness#prorecovery

#boanoite 💡💪🙌

Hello, darlings. .
Today I turned 27. .
For those who obsess over astrology as much as I do, that means I’m a proud #Capricorn woman (with a Gemini moon 🌙). I’ve never made my birthday a hugeeee thing. So long as I can get a donut 🍩 and hugs and love from people I care about, I’m pretty much set. .
My birthday “wisdom” is simple. I hope you TRUST. Yourself, timing of your life, that little thing called the universe, trust it all. Because while I never anticipated my life to look the way it does today, I ain’t mad about it. 🤷🏻♀️💜✨ Thank you guys for the birthday wishes!
