Yes I work outside but that's not enough to loose weight. Lol. Bc I love to eat. So I have to remind myself daily why I do what I do. I don't have to be vegan . I don't have to practice being alone. I dont have to be single . I don't have to make art. I dont have to take my dogs to the dog park ...late at night lol. But I have to in order to see change in my life. It's hard ladies and gentleman. People question my motives every day. Why don't you just take the bus? Why don't you just eat meat once a week ? Why do you spend so much on your dogs ? Why dont you have sex? Why do you travel alone? Why aren't you dating anyone ? Why do you wear the same thing every day? Why dont you shop ? I say" I'm practicing discipline." Just like budgeting ones money to achieve financial freedom. Same thing applies to other areas in life.
Surround yourself with people who are doing the same thing. Don't have anyone ? Read books, go to workshops or meet ups. Once you are consistently practicing your discipline. You will attract people in your life. It might be lonely for a while. Patience. Yes it's hard. Trust me. Good people will come and stay. Don't just hang with people bc you are lonely or looking for company. Do things alone! •

Feeling super bloated today. I’m on 10-14 days light duties at work with not applying a lot of pressure to my left foot. So no crazy amount of stepage from me the next little while. Just means I’m going to have to work twice as hard once i have the all clear. Today I felt a little depressed at work because all I can do is drive around and not get out of the vehicle 😞 #weightlossjourney#badday#selfiefriday
Had a VERY filling meal tonight! Ham and cheese eggs and English muffins with cream cheese! Total calories today equaling 1,315! Got 2.94 miles down today, feeling VERY accomplished! I had a very stressful day to day, and all I wanted to do was binge, go through my cupboards and snack on everything in sight, my old habits wanted to creep in; the habits of eating my emotions! Everyday on this journey is a battle, mentally, emotionally, and physically. I am yanking myself out of a horrible abyss of depression, self-loathing, deadly habits, using food as a crutch, hating my life, wanting my life to end so bad that I didn't care if I died from my habits, and overall general unhealthy and unhappy choices! The point is I am fighting for my life, it is hard, but I put myself here, I made it hard, so I will fight for my life each and EVERY DAY! I might struggle EVERYDAY but that struggling means I am fighting, it means i am still alive to fight, it means I have something to fight for! It is hard, THIS IS HARD, but not the kind of hard that is impossible, it is the kind of hard that is SIMPLY not easy and takes work! I will work EVERY DAY for the life I DESERVE, the life I WANT, and the life I didn't think I COULD EVER have, but now know I can have! Never give up! It is hard, but life is hard, being fat is hard, being unhealthy is hard, being depressed is hard, and fighting for a new life is hard; I know which hard I am choosing, which one do you choose??
Mini Mexican Pizzas
2 Cali'flour Foods Flat Breads (1/3 Lean, 2 Greens)
2 ounces 95 to 97 % lean ground beef, cooked (1/3 Lean)
1/4 tsp taco seasoning (1/2 Condiment)
1/3 cup reduced fat cheddar cheese (1/3 Lean)
1/2 cup shredded lettuce (1/2 Green)
1/4 cup diced tomatoes (1/2 Green)
2 tbsp regular or light sour cream* (2 Condiments)
1/2 ounce chopped jarred jalapenos (1/2 Condiment)
Heat oven to 375 degrees.
Place flat breads on a pizza screen or pan with holes in it. Or place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake flat breads for 10 to 12 min. Broil for about 3 to 4 min. Let cool for 10 min.
Season cooked ground beef with taco seasoning and stir until combined. Top each flat bread with half of the beef and shredded cheese. Bake for an additional 4 to 5 min or until cheese has melted.
Sprinkle lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and jalapenos on top of each flat bread.
1 Serving (2 mini pizzas) with
1 Lean, 3 Greens, and 3 Condiments for both pizzas *If you do not like sour cream, you can use 2 tbsp of salsa as 2 Condiments.

Tonight we met up for dinner at Longhorn and I’m so glad we were able to catch up. Won’t be long before we go back to daily catch up sessions AND our 2 year #surgiversary is right around the corner! 👏🏼
Man, this pop up today has me alllllll in my feels 😭❤️ 2016 vs. 2018 - this is a continued evolution, a continued process for me. I’m finding balance, I’m less obsessive, I’ve learned how to maintain while still enjoying myself some days. I’d love to lose another 7 - 10 lbs, but again, it’s not necessity - it’s a vanity number 🤷🏼♀️ I want my arms and thighs loose skin removed, but again it’s vanity 🤷🏼♀️ Most days I feel really good and strong, I have stamina and endurance. I work on my feet all day and I can finally jog and not just a mile which when I started was all I had ever dared to hope for, now I’m at 3+ miles at a time 😱😱😱 when I literally could hardly motivate myself to walk the neighborhood and that was so taxing. So much has changed but so much has remained the same and it’s important for me to remember that too, same girl, new strength. I’m still a lazy little thing at heart, but I’ve learned if you practice what you want to be daily, diligently, over time you actually become more like that. Someone called me driven the other day and inwardly I thought “ha, you must not know me,” but then I had to check myself because I’m pretty sure people that aren’t driven don’t lose an entire person’s body weight, don’t graduate school and then go to work full time and they definitely don’t sign up and go back for grad school full time while still trying to work on themselves - it’s so easy to beat ourselves up and to feel we are never enough. It’s so much easier to hear the bad than it is to hear the good. Today I’m just gonna revel in all that I’ve done, all that I am and all that I’m becoming, because I really deserve to think of myself as the driven, impressive, wonderfully flawed girl that I am 💃🏼💪🏼

This was so powerful to me. I have set a few goals for myself both health and financial and sometimes it's sooooo easy to fall into the trap of "what I want now". That's when it's so important to go back to the drawing board and remember WHY you have goals, and exactly what it is that you are trying to accomplish.

Anyways I wanted to ask a question: if you are currently overweight or obese, do you have darker skin in your creases and folds? I used to have darker skin on my neck, m armpits, and etc. (When I was younger, I thought it was trapped dirt. 🤷🏻♀️) Although I had the issue the majority of my life, it was only addressed once by my previous OBGYN after the birth of my daughter. She mentioned it could be an underlying symptom of PCOS. Although I didn't follow up with my DR, I found out that the darkened skin could also be a sign of Type 2 Diabetes. While I was never formally diagnosed with either, the issue with dark skin completely disappeared with my weight loss.
I guess the point I'm making is be aware of your body. It might be subtle or it might be pronounced, but your body does have its ways of telling you that something is wrong. I went the majority of my life with this issue, never thinking it could be a sign of something more serious aside from just excess fat. So if something doesn't seem right, seek advice from a professional. Something as simple as losing weight and making a dietary lifestyle change can improve the issue, BUT it's always best to ask a doctor. Your health is important, so be proactive!
