I don’t normally do NY resolutions, however this year coming, 2019 I have so many goals I’m just itching to get started.
As a personal trainer it’s difficult to get your own training done, when your up early and into bed late you really have to decide when and how you are going to train yourself. So Number 1, I want to get a good plan for myself set in place, nothing wrong with that 😊
Secondly I need to eat, and I mean eat more of the right stuff instead of rushing out the door with a coffee. Im human, I know what I should be doing but with being a busy person I tend to neglect my own body in order to help others, kinda stupid I know 😅 #iwillbeaccountable 💪

I’ve got a Workout Wednesday for ya 💪🏼🚀 It’s a workout which will test your PULL UP STRENGTH and your progression over the next few weeks.
It involves 2 movements and a possible set or more of burpees. Your fave..I know.
You’ll need: - A pull up bar / rings / suspension trainer / low bar (depending on your pull up level). -A stopwatch or a minute timer set for 20 rounds.
- a piece of chalk to mark your broad jump length, or two small objects like a bottle of water and a towel.
Set a 20 minute clock and see how far you can get.
Grab a piece of chalk or two small objects to mark your body height in length in the floor. Scale to 1.5x your height if you need to.
Every minute on the minute (EMOM) for 20 minutes
Minute 1: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 strict pull ups / ring rows / inverted rows (if you’re doing these instead just because you haven’t got a pull up bar, double the reps!
Minute 2: 10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10 broad jumps (Each set should take less than 30s)
IF YOU FAIL in either movement, add a third minute to the round and hit 5 burpees in that minute and rest for the remaining seconds of that minute. Then continue your workout.
The workout is capped at 20 minutes. Mark your score and log it for a future attempt.
There’s a little motivation for progression. Beat that score in a few weeks 👊🏼

If you look at the top left of this picture, you'll see the timestamp of the story that I took a screenshot of: exactly 1 year ago today. The photo on the right was taken just a couple minutes ago.
1 year separates these photos, almost exactly. You can see the physical differences (well... kind of, since I was still good at posing haha!). I lost 35 pounds of fat, now regained about 6-7 in muscle. Also lost close to 10% bodyfat and 3-4 inches at my waist. Truth is, those changes (the ones that can be seen by just looking) are the least impactful ones I have experienced in those 12 months. It's still something I am incredibly proud of, and worth celebrating, but the journey itself has been way more rewarding.
The journey towards strenght (physical and mental), self-accceptance, and most importantly rebuilding a life for myself with my own happiness at the forefront of anything and/or anyone else. I had to make hard decisions, compromises, break off relationships I had been building for years, and spent too much time evaluating and analyzing what I truly want in life. To be honest, I'm still unsure about that last part, but I do know what I don't want, and I have not regretted a single decision I took this past year, and definitely do not regret being completely selfish throughout it all.
I spent way too much time in the past putting people ahead of me for terrible reasons, trying to make everyone around me happy while compromising my own comfort/happiness, and for that I blame no one but myself. No one will put you first, unless you do it yourself. This is such generic motivational bullshit, but it's 100% true and it took me way too long to realize it.
Be kind and understanding to people around you, but don't forget you also need that same care you invest in others. The results of the before and after pic isn't 1 year or eating healthy and working out, it's the results of 1 year of self-care.
Cheers to that, you're all awesome and unique just the way you are, and we all deserve to be happy! Thank you if you've read all this, I appreciate it ❤

☝️That was the subject line of an email sent to me from my online client, Grace.
She was out of sorts...
She RSVP’d to her friend’s wedding months before we started working together. Now that she was making progress, she had some concerns...
How would she navigate the food? 🍖
How could she resist the alcohol? 🍷
What if someone forced cake on her? 🍰
All valid worries & things to plan for.
Then she said, “maybe I can get out of going.”
Heck ‘effin no.
Health & fitness requires discipline and, at time, sacrifice...
But(t🍑) it should never-ever stop you from living your life.
Why are you doing this in the first place? 🤔
❌ It’s not to weigh a certain amount or look a certain way...
✅ It’s to better your health & confidence so that you can get more out of life!
If you’re skipping out on every memorable life event (i.e. weddings, parties, trips, & vacations) because of fitness, you’re doing it wrong.
That’s like training for a marathon and staying home the day of the race so you can practice more.
Doesn’t make a lick of sense.
As you go into this weekend, the remaining holiday months, and the rest of your life...
Remember this —> YOU are in control of your environment the vast majority of the time.
In those moments, you need to stick to your plan the best you can. That way, when fun life stuff pops up, you can relax and actually enjoy yourself.
You’ll still want to be mindful, but you won’t have to stress if things aren’t perfect...
You know that, most of the time, you’re dialed 📝👌

It’s been officially 11 months since I started my weight loss journey! 🎉
I’m down almost 150lbs and feel like a new person. I’ve always let my weight be an excuse to hold me back from basically everything. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my entire life because I’m actually living my life. I know I sound like a fucking broken record but it is so much more than the number on the scale!! I’ve been able to learn so more about myself this past year and not to sound like a cocky ass bitch but damn I’m kinda dope as hell lmao.
