But first and foremost!
In keeping up with my greatest tradition that my trainer taught me right from the get go before every show is that first thing in the morning I take a moment for all that I’m grateful for
And today I decided to not focus on specific things or people or places. But yet just for what simply is... I hope you can appreciate this part of the process as much as the big show itself because this is what it’s all about... 10 PRE-COMPETITION

I’m grateful for who I am and what I have... 8. Today I will carry with me an attitude of gratitude... 9. Thank you for the blessings this day will bring...🙏🏻 10. “MOST OF ALL” I’m so grateful for my beautiful daughter Breann @yungbreezi So grateful that she’s here with me in Japan celebrating her birthday today!
Today’s the big show and tonight it’s the big celebration 🍾 HAPPY BIRTHDAY little B!
When was the last time you tried something new?! Today, I visited a boxing gym for the first time, it was scary, it was out of my comfort zone, it was all the reasons I workout at home...alone! 😜
BUT, like most times when I try something new - I am so glad I did! And I didn’t even die!!! 😉
So, my challenge to you:
TRY NEW THINGS! OFTEN!!!

Diet 👊🏻 Fitness 👊🏻 Mindset 👊🏻 These three things in combination create the motivation within necessary to succeed. Outside of this it's important to find accountability and support. Having trainers that believe in you and constantly encourage AND challenge you to become greater makes all the difference- especially on the tough days. 💢
This is the diet plan I followed per my doctor that helped me lose my first 30lbs and has helped me maintain my lifestyle since. (*DISCLAIMER* Consult your doctor before you begin any new diet or workout regime that's not normal for your current lifestyle. What worked for me may not for you!).💢 More important than the lost weight, this diet taught me discipline, portion control, and the importance of REAL food. Grass fed beef, organic, range free, non-gmo, etc. Don't rely on the stickers placed on labels or you'll be sorely mislead- read the nutrition content on the package to see if what you're consuming is really real. For the first three months I had NO GLUTEN, NO DAIRY, AND NO SUGAR. After month three, I added sugar in moderation back in and very minimal dairy. During this journey I discovered I'm allergic to gluten, so that never has and never will be worked back in, but I love how I feel inside now and don't miss it! 💢
Don't be afraid to try something new. It's hard, but if you determine within yourself that you want to succeed, you WILL. Stop allowing your excuses to hold you back and start defeating them! There's no better time than RIGHT NOW to start! What's stopping you?! 💢
I knew the first thing above anything that I wanted to accomplish when I got to NC was get my health back in order. I have said this repeatedly for at least decade. Lose weight. Get fit. Stop the yo- yo’ing and self sabotage🙄🙄.
In 5 month, I took small steps in my daily living to try and eat a bit healthier. Get my workouts in. I still continued to have set backs like my sciatic pain flair up to the point I couldn’t even sit in a chair!! Then I was sick for 23 days right in the middle of LIFFT4 when I was really killing the program and my goals! It was mind f*&$👈🏻👈🏻
Then I used this time to once again to tell myself..
—> “YOU CANT DO THIS” —> “your mid 30s it’s over dude”
—> “just accept your body for what it is and be happy with it”
The inner monologue was brutal and self doubting. I was purely limiting myself!! I’m mean hello proof is in the pics!! My body was had already changed so much!!
So with a little push from my fit tribe, my amazing supportive husband (and Konner for watching sister and Nicky so I can get it done), my coworker for joining me almost daily ( @alang9593 ), and my PIC ( @hdhanson123 ), i am about to complete my very first Beachbody program, after 4 years as a coach, 100%👈🏻👈🏻 aka every single workout will be completed!! 🤯🤯 I skipped every leg day when I did 21 day fix. I swore off HIIT and cardio because “I have no endurance”. 3 days a week is “enough”. I’m done with my self limiting behavior. I’m DONE with just enough!!! Dug deep in the mind of matter game and in turn my body has completely changed but even more my mind has completely changed and there is no going back now!! .

To be honest, when I started this program I wasn’t sure how long I would last. I knew I wanted to do it to hold my challenge group accountable, but there was a part of me that thought I was better than it. I didn’t think 20 minutes would get someone who already had a steady workout routine results. But holy shit was I wrong!
This program was a huge reality check for me. Put me in my place for sure. I thought I was in great shape. It wasn’t until Shaun T was yelling at me every morning to not give up as I was sweating out tears and grunting that I realized just how wrong I had been...
I feel in love with this program & never missed a workout. If nothing else, these last six weeks have really showed me the power in completely something, setting a goal for yourself and reaching it. That feeling when you get to the finish line is indescribable.
This was the first challenge group I ran since signing up to be a coach. My goal in all of this was to stop living in fear and wishing for more. To live outside my comfort zone and grow. & that’s exactly what I’ve done, and I couldn’t be more proud of myself.

Little Saturday morning WOD to warm me up on this chilly New England day 🙄 soooo ready for summer ☀️ Warmed up with arm circles (added 3 lb. DB to really get those muscles warmed up), some Butt kicks and squats 💪🏽
20 min AMRAP:
10 goblet squats (20 lb KB)
15 KB swings (15 lb KB)
7 rounds total 👏🏽 Using lower weights does not ever mean you are too weak to lift heavy, I find lifting lighter weights and focusing on form helps tremendously get you to a place where heavier weights feel easier but you can do the moves without injuring yourself!
💥 You know that quick moment when you are trying to decide if you should go train? When you are weighing yay or nay in your head? Those are the moments that matter the MOST! Those are the times when habits are built....so don't think too long. Instead, tell yourself 'YOU are worth the effort' and remember why you started!
Jake has been the true definition of determination.
With his work schedule, he knew he couldn’t workout everyday
Plus he loves beer
But his goal was stronger than his excuses
He pushed himself in EVERY workout
Sometimes he did a morning workout and came back for the night class
His goal IS stronger than his excuses
His results speak for themselves
And now we start his next goal

Become the best possible version of you that you can! If you’re experiencing negativity day in & day out, take a step back and evaluate your life. Relationships, job, hobby’s, what are you letting sink into your head? 🧐
It may take time, but practicing positivity each day will eventually become a habit for life 😬🙏🏻
