I haven’t done these in a while and I’m so happy I started again! The resistance band increases tension as you move through the movement making the contraction even more difficult.

I had a busy weekend so I'm a little late to the party, but last week @balancing.fit asked us to share our "why" that keeps us dedicated to working out. To be honest, I could list a million little things - the health problems that run in my family, the confidence it gives me, the physical and mental endurance, and so many more. But my biggest "why" is that taking 1 hour everyday for myself allows me to radically change how I spend the other 23 hours. Exercise is how I clear my mind and manage my mood and anxiety. It allows me to enjoy my life and the time I have outside of the gym with the people I love. Working out enables me to be a present, grateful, and loving person, friend, partner, aunt, etc. It has literally made me stronger, inside and out.

I’m calling this one ‘Scorpion’ 🦂😆 Throw some Reformer ‘Pullups’ and ‘swimming’ in and you’ll feel muscles working you forgot you had.. Wake up some of those muscles that love to go into hibernation 🐻 AKA GLUTES, HAMSTRINGS, LATS.
Incidentally that is probably the most common thing I hear after people come to Pilates.. ‘I found muscles I didn’t know I had’ or ‘I haven’t felt them work that way before’. Pilates, like any form of movement or exercise, takes practice.. and patience.. It’s a great compliment to other higher intensity sports and it’s what I think of these days as my home base 🎯

QUESTION 📌📌📌 How often do you focus 110% on what is happening in your body? How you are breathing, the position of your pelvis, in relation to your rib cage, your head in relation to your spine, and how they are influencing your breathing and posture, what you are engaging, stabilizing, moving. Yeah... well we focus on all of that at the one time in Pilates 🤓🤯 You could say, you really get to know your body .. Your postural awareness will improve, and your general awareness around movement will be heightened. Ms. Krongkanit Rakcharoen is 52 and she is a regular yoga practitioner. She came to us to get over her fear of inversions and learn how to do a handstand. We had to work on slowly building her strength, mobility, and various other physical and mental aspects, and after a few classes we started seeing great progress! Every PWR session incorporates pyramid training! Unlike some of the other phases in a PWR workout, Pyramids are NOT the time to push through as fast as you can without rest. A pyramid drops the number of reps in each set as you up your weight, and proper rest between these sets is KEY! This helps your muscles recover enough to take on the heavier load and tear those muscles. These three exercises are some of my absolute go-to for building the back and I LOVE using them in pyramids.🖤👊🏼 #pwr2019
