Wanderlust Weekend // Kids DO NOT be as dumb as what we did here. We just had to see the famous plane wreck in Iceland and we already missed it the first time we drove past because of wet weather.
So near the end of our holiday, we made a special trip from Reykjavik back to the wreck and instead of rain we had a snowstorm. We went out anyway.
To top it off @jeffs.portrait had the dumb idea to make me climb the wreck to get a shot. The roof was slippery AF and covered in ice. I still don't know how I made it back down without breaking my neck 😂😂😂
When you visit South Africa for friends’ wedding and spontaneously end up having a hangout session with these locals. @ariooooon “Found these cute little #hyenas chillin in the middle of the road on #safari to Mopani... #krugernationalpark. Hearing their shrill laughs in the middle of the night isn’t nearly as cute.”
Caught some great sunset vibes at Juno Beach today. Super excited to have left behind the horribly cold weather that’s going to be hitting Toronto this weekend - even if it’s only for a few days. Sorry not sorry. #margooseontheloose
The last year has been a year of sowing seeds in dry dirt under a hot sun. A lot of care and love and water has been put into those fields.
I lost a lot of crop or two. Sometimes I lost my faith in my ability to grow something because everyone else’s crops were so beautiful. They’re able to share their crops in ways that really matter.
And here I am, bent over a small patch of earth, begging my seeds to grow. Mud under my fingernails, permanent. A slave to a system that I have no control over – the workings of the earth below me. What do I know? Who am I to curse the sun for shining down, the clouds for withholding rain, the soil for drying?
I realize I could possibly take care of my plot of land for my whole life and never see anything grow. That happens to people. Some people just live in the wrong climate, or they use the wrong fertilizer. Or they don’t care if anything grows or they sleep under an Ash tree, hat pulled over their eyes.
But I have this desperate hope that my seeds will grow. That I too, can share my crops with those around me. That the dry soil will be worked into a softer earth, richer with nutrients, maybe a space where someone else can come and plant their seeds.
And under the Ash tree we will share some bread or maybe a crisp, sharp apple and we will laugh against the fear, and the sun will be kind.

The best part of our stay in Puerto Escondido Mexico for six weeks this past summer was staying at @casamarsuites. I finally put together a little video to share the beautiful hotel/Airbnb with you! Hands down the only place one should stay in the area! Link to full video in profile.

There’s a part of Addis called Mexico. I didn’t find any chips and salsa but we ate vegetable pizza with green beans and carrots on the rooftop as the sun set. Pizza is a big deal here. And hamburgers. And club sandwiches with all the mayo. For real.
I haven't been to Central Market for a long time since I moved, and it used to be one of my most frequent visits. My own life has changed a lot in the last year, within time the city and the people have changed faster than I thought. We just lust after the old time, but forget now no longer time.
