I learned how to drive stick on my mom’s 1987 Ford Mustang GT when I was 16. It had a high output 5.0 liter V8 and a billet @hurst_performance shifter my dad installed in his dyno shop. To this day, the most impressive thing about that vehicle was how @ford managed to get so little horsepower out of such a large engine. Regardless, that fox body gave me countless memories and an appreciation for the manual transmission that I don’t think will ever go away. I’m glad that mustang still occupies a spot in their garage in upstate NY. 32 years since that car rolled off the assembly line it has yet to be driven in snow and doesn’t have a spot of rust on it.
