Sunset at Silver Lake
This was taken at the end of a long day full of snowshoeing, photography, and sledding. After failing to arrive at my planned location early enough for sunrise (despite leaving at 5:30), I had hoped to redeem myself with a nice image at sunset. My vision for this shot was to capture a beautiful pink sunset, similar to one I witnessed nearly a year ago in this same spot. Unfortunately, this did not occur.
I’m left with a decent image, but I think the composition could be improved slightly. I was very happy with it on location but I now think the cabin should’ve been placed further right of frame and I also think there’s quite a lot of empty space in front of the cabin and trees. This image doesn’t particularly excite me and I think it’s in desperate need of some more color, but perhaps you will view it more favorably than I. ———————————————————
