How do we care for one another? How do we cope with illness, injury, and loss? How do we find the strength to heal? Stories help us grapple with these complex questions.
Local friends >>> TOMORROW @thebeeslc will be hosting Healthcare: Stories of Illness & Wellness, a special evening of curated stories at Kingsbury Hall in partnership with Utah Presents and University of Utah Health’s Resiliency Center and Program in Medical Ethics and Humanities.
Seven storytellers in our community will take the stage to share personal narratives of sickness and health, complications and recovery, and the challenges that arise in the providing and receiving of care.
We believe that whatever health challenges you’ve gone through, whatever you’re facing now, and whatever the future will bring, if you show up to listen to these stories, you’ll come away feeling more connected, and less alone.
It’s been a privilege for both me and @nan_seymour, The Bee’s Director of Narrative Encouragement and my co-conspirator in this work, to support these storytellers as they prepare to brave the stage. We have been truly heartened by their examples of resilience and courage. 🔗 in profile to learn more and get tickets. It’s going to be such a beautiful night and we sincerely hope you can join us 🖤🖤🖤 #thebeeslc#stories#storytelling#truestories#health#healthcare#healthcarestories#sickness#illness#wellness#care#heart
The Heart Qi is seen in the tip of the nose and the tip of the tongue. If the tip is very red all the time or has veins there then the heart is not healthy.
If the tip of the tongue is red then nightmares and restless sleep can be apparent and to the extreme of mania.
Interesting how the body is always giving us clues if we know where to look.
Lately has been a little bit of a struggle. I hate to complain or be a pity party so I carry on every day doing my thing with a smile. Trying to get to the root of some issues I've put off for years. On top of The past few years doing some major damage down to my core. Realizing It may take much longer then I anticipated to feel better is frustrating when your So "healthy." Stress is a BEAST! .
That being said ...❤️
I Feel SO much gratitude for where I was , where I am and where I am heading. My favorite thing is to connect with people. Especially other women who want to feel happy , healthy, normal , free from what's weighing them down and how to learn the habits to make yourself a priority. I can't tell you how many amazing conversations I've had with clients and friends lately that just make me walk away beaming with just JOY!The one thing I know as a women is we all struggle the same... The gift is to talk about it so we know we're not alone. I have been told I'm to sensitive, to emotional , put it all out there to much and shouldn't take things personally. Well my friends , this also is my gift. Life is meant to be lived, make a impact, leave an imprint and not just survive. .
I think the more real and open we can be with ourselves and others, the clearer our purpose becomes. I'm just going to keep on being me and hope you can learn to love and be You. .

This block of vintage timber (reclaimed from the 100yr old brickworks at Newmarket), is some of the last few pieces I have left. Each piece is too small too shape into a heart shape, so to try and maximize this timber I have decided to glue the smaller pieces together. The result is the "Imperfect vintage hearts", which I think now have a great to tell of their own. If you want to purchase one of these hearts send me a message as they will be in very limited supply and I will have a couple at @thehomecollective_ on Sunday 3rd March. Cheers J
