FOCUS ON ME FIRST
This is a little controversial because there's an inherent assumption that by focusing on yourself you don't care about other people.
I'll debunk that from my own experience of choosing me first.
When I decided to quit my job and go on a 3 month road trip I told my loved ones my decision, listened to any concerns and carefully explained that by doing this I'm able to give them more love because I was filling myself up with more love. Of I didn't go, I'd be miserable and who benefits from that?
When I changed my eating habits for good I also gave myself permission to make myself the number 1 priority when it came to choosing the foods I was eating. I declined to go to restaurants where I couldn't create a healthy meal, did all the grocery shopping, and ate most of my meals at home to ensure I knew what I was putting in my body.
In both cases I expressed to people what was happening. That I changed my eating habits so if possible let's find somewhere that suits us both. I let people know my plan for my road trip so there was less worry or anxiety for my safety. But for both I followed my heart and what I knew was right for me.
I absolutely believe I can and do care about others while also choosing me first. And once I created a habit it became much easier to incorporate people into what works best for me.
You can't be afraid to say no! You can't be afraid of what people will think of you. And you can't be afraid of losing anyone. Those closest to you, who really love you want you to be happy!! Don't forget that!
One last thing...I now have so much love and support for others who do the same knowing how important it is for each of us to make ourselves happy. I applaud and give space knowing it will all work out exactly as it's meant to!

🍭 It was almost like an internal battle. That’s how bad my cravings had gotten...
I would literally argue with myself and convince myself why I shouldn’t eat it. 😫 I always craved candy and ice cream! 🍦
It would go something like: Ooo ice cream sounds REALL good right now, no you shouldn’t eat that, but I want it, no, yes, no, YESSS!!
Then I would EAT IT ALL! 😔
The urge would be so strong that I couldn’t resist it. But once I gave in, I was overwhelmed with guilt and shame that I wasn’t strong enough to resist the temptation. I wasn’t good enough to overcome it.
The feeling of inadequacy made everything worse.
And the scary thing is that this is so normal! So many women suffer from intense cravings and sweet tooths.
They try to overcome it with willpower and determination, which always fails.
I know because I went through it. The best way to overcome this weakness is to become the type of person who doesn’t get cravings.
No need to worry about temptation and willpower if you never feel the urge right?
So how do we do that? 🤔
The real purpose is to make a transition into a lifestyle and not a “diet”. ✨
Everyone has sweet tooth cravings. So it is important to find foods that work for YOU in order to prevent eating some candy or cookies. Your body and your experience are unique, so your approach to optimizing your gut health will also be unique!

Different things work for our bodies at different times. I lost a ton of weight and got myself healthy back between 2011-2013. #truth I didn't feel like working out today. Truth is I enjoy working out but today was not that day. I woke up to find my day plans were COMPLETELY rescheduled for me and I was frustrated. I was actually angry. However, I had two choices 1 stay mad and have a crummy day or 2. Relieve some tension with my workout, get over my attitude, and continue my day... I chose option number 2!
