In Bruges: This is another one of my favorite movies of all time that goes under appreciated. This is the first movie by Martin Mcdonagh the director of three billboards outside ebbing Missouri which was my favorite movie of 2017. While I really love Three Billboards, I do prefer In Bruges.
One of the things I love most about this movie is it’s almost misleading primos. The story on face value is about two hitmen hiding out in Bruges Brussels after a job gone wrong. If you heard this plot you would probably think it would be an intense blockbuster, but it’s really the opposite. The story is very slow and throws out action, in favor of strong character development and writing. This is one of the slowest movies I’ve ever seen but that’s not a bad thing.
Martin Mcdonagh is proving himself to be one of the best new directors out there and I’m extremely exited for his next project.
