I feel like im not meant to be happy, like im meant to be hurt. im starting to believe that this is how im suppose to be. every time im happy or something is going good, something rips it away and pulls me back down. maybe this way, having all this pain and sadness, maybe just maybe, it stops someone else from having to endure it.

American entrepreneur @timferriss refers to meditation as non-reactivity training and uses it to his advantage.
Meditation causes more activation from your parasympathetic side of your autonomic nervous system (rest and digest response) and this is responsible for digestion and slowing down your heart rate amongst many other things.
The opposite side of your autonomic nervous system is your sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight response), which is responsible for increases in stress hormones, blood pressure and heart rate etc.
Meditation can provide many benefits such as:
