People seem glued to certain exercises that they think HAVE to be included within their program... #
Movements don’t fit everyone! Mechanically everyone is setup different, they load differently and sometime a movement just isn’t right for someone!
Obviously if we are approaching a powerlifting style approach training program we have to be including work on our lifts that we are tested on. However, bodybuilding is completely different. We don’t HAVE to do a certain exercise if there is an alternative that would allow for a greater outcome! Be smart with your exercise selection because at the end of the day if we can’t load a muscle effectively we aren’t going to grow!

In my #fitness journey I came to the realization that the hardest part for me was starting. I would start, stop, start, life happen and stop. But this time around once I started and I became #CONSISTENT. Everyday I don’t feel like it and I’m not always motivated but I continue to put on my gym clothes, I continue to try to eat healthier, I continue to go to my basement or gym, I continue and finish the workout regardless of my mind saying not today. In my life there is no perfect balance, there are priority and my number one priority is to take care of myself. Fitness isn’t just about #lookinggoodnaked to me. My #mind and #body needs to be taken care of. When I workout I feel energized and accomplished, because during I may be thinking I can’t do this but I DO IT and prove my mind wrong and I’m stronger than I think mentally and physically. Even if I get nothing done on my list I know I at least got my mental and physical fitness in. Week 1 is DONE!!💪🏼💪🏼
In a week full of being consistent with workouts and nutrition, I am beginning to notice a difference in many areas. Not only in my appearance, but how I am feeling mentally. This program is only 20 minutes a day, but we are focusing on getting our mindset where it needs to be to CONQUER OUR LIFE.💥
Things I’m noticing at the end of Week 1:
-Slimming and toning in many areas.
-Feeling stronger mentally and physically.
-Abs are popping.
-Clothes are loose.
-Feeling more confident.
-Pushing through even when I want to give up.
The most important aspect of this journey is learning to find accomplishments that don’t relate to a number on the scale. For almost a year now, I have weighed myself daily and no matter what the number has said, I TRULY DON’T GIVE A DAMN!! If I don’t like the number, I look at myself in the mirror and tell myself that I look freakin good despite what the number is. It has taken a lot of time to get to that point, but when you truly feel that way, it is so FREEING!!🙌🙌
If you are wanting to get to a point where you don’t care about the scale, you must start working on the inside and it will radiate on the outside. I can honestly say I feel the BEST I have ever felt. Thanks to a lot of work I’ve put in during my “me” time, personal development, surrounding myself with amazing people, the support of my family, and of course, having amazing trainers to tell me what to do.

* For overall health, food quality is most important * For a great life balancing those two is where it’s at. 🔷
•It’s important to enjoy all foods with the understanding of how they will affect your goals. Instead of denying yourself your fav food eat them but adjust your week to accommodate the extra calories. 🔷
•The foods we view as healthier generally have a higher nutritional value and less empty calories but once in awhile it’s good to enjoy the foods you love for your best life! Thx to @thefitnesschef for a great post!

For future reference, today is the day it clicked. I woke up and realized, I can do this again. Who cares if I’ve gained back 33 of the 60 pounds I lost in the past two years. Waiting and ignore the numbers and how I feel is not going to help. I’m done, 6 months of sulking and trying to figure it out, but I’m back. 15 miles a week and Intermittent fasting til March. I’m
