“Is this 🎤 on?” Good, I want to talk about this INSANE trend of filtering hair that’s currently happening on IG.
These preset filters that people are using for hair photos.... JUST STOP IT 🛑
These filters are setting UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS FOR CLIENTS AND STYLISTS!! And repost pages: STOP REPOSTING FILTERED WORK, its frustrating to see clearly filtered work making the rounds. .
One of these is the actual, UNEDITED photo I took and the others are a preset Visco filter (which I had to google “preset photo filter apps because I didn’t know what apps were out there). So, I decided to play around and see if I could recreate some of the stuff I’ve been seeing that’s doing clients and stylists a DISSERVICE! *Let me clarify and say if you’re using filters on yourself, your action shots, or blogger style photos, there’s nothing wrong with that. But using these to edit HAIR is WRONG and NEEDS TO STOP!! .
I work really hard at creating beautiful hair, taking photos with my camera, getting good lighting, angles, etc..... so it’s frustrating when I see FILTERED photos stylists and repost pages post because IT’S a LIE!!! .
(The top LEFT is the original, the other 3 are preset VISCO filters)
