A couple of days ago I jumped on the wagon and decided to do this 'how hard did aging hit you' comparison thing.
It got me thinking, because in fact while the past 10 years weren't all fun and games, I'm in a much better place now at 31 than I was at 21.
Mainly, while I do love those young cheekbones, I was quite ill at the time, my colitis as yet undiagnosed, not on medication but unable to eat normally. I was also about to finish my degree and was about to be unemployed for 6 months after university, recession had hit hard and a good degree from a good university didn't mean as much.
Fast forward to 2019 and I am feeling way better and stronger, have a job that I love (at least most days) and know much better who I am and my worth.
Ultimately life is a journey, not a destination, but I like to think that I am learning my lessons and becoming a better version of me every day.
Here's to another good 10 years. 😊
Mein erster KDK Wettkampf war zwar im Dezember 2017, aber auch da ging es schon los mit Knie bandagieren. So nach knapp über einem Jahr kann man dann auch mal bei einen Wettkampf komplett raw starten 😂 Also here we go! Bayernliga am 12. Januar 2019, 1. Wettkampftag in Bayreuth. Ich bin mehr oder weniger als Backup eingesprungen, dass es dann doch gereicht hat, um in die Wertung zu kommen, hat mich gefreut 🙃 Für mich war es die 5. Traingseinheit in der Woche und dafür bin ich echt zufrieden mit den Werten. Der Plan war zwar 9/9 zu machen, aber leider wollte die letzte Beuge nicht so wie ich, als die Handgelenksbandage aufgesprungen ist 😩🙄

January 2019 it was time for my first raw competition in powerlifting at the Bayernliga after having one year of equipped ones. It was a good one for me since my total counted for the team, eventhough I was only a backup for one of the equipped lifters. Sadly I failed the 150 squat by losing stability as my wristwrap unfastened 🙄 But still made a 370kg/ 815lbs total (8/9) with a 140kg/308lbs squat, 75kg/165lbs benchpress and a 155kg/341lbs deadlift ☑️
The next time I put on my suits again 😉

Last warmups from last night squat session, 190kg and 200kg. We've come on pretty far from "can't squat 180 properly" to "200 doesn't need a spot now" haven't we @kc_pl?

Bench feeling decent. 4x3 at 47.5kg. Deads just awful at the moment. 4x4 112.5kg last set here. Having a double overhand grip is taking some getting used to and resetting up between reps takes forever. #bench#deadlift#powerlifting#projectbarbell

This is especially important for beginners as they often lack the ability to hold the correct positions for the duration of the rep or set. Planks/reverse planks/ side planks Etc. Are all great. Build your ability to hold these perfectly for two mins then begin loading them.

Since I've backed off off leg work to try and sort my lower back tightness I've figured out what works for me bench wise. -
I only have one chest exercise in my programme and I've still been improving, my bench is poverty asf but this is good for me 😊 -
Video is second set of 3 and it ain't that pretty but its something. This was after training core, back and rear delts to mind you. -
